Discover the Peninsula Lifestyle
Arborwood is surrounded by communities with a rich history of diverse roots. Poulsbo, on Liberty Bay, was first settled by Norwegian immigrants and proudly displays its Scandinavian roots to this day. Though small, Port Gamble has a large personality, perched on a bluff above Hood Canal. As one of the oldest towns in the state it was originally a mill town whose architecture reflects the heritage of the predominately New England raised mill workers. The Port Madison Indian Reservation is home to the Suquamish Tribe who played a large role in Washington State history as the home tribe to Chief Seattle. These communities are proud of their roots and celebrate their heritage with events ranging from Viking fest in Poulsbo, to a Tribal Canoe Journey hosting at Port Madison.
North Kitsap has all of the advantages of small-town community while still having easy access to more metropolitan areas like Seattle. There are multiple weekend markets to visit during the summer months where local artisans and growers sell their crafts and produce, and where seeing people you know in the grocery store is not an uncommon occurrence. Frequent wildlife sightings can be counted on year-round.
